This brooch, sometimes described as a "fishbone," was given by the artist to his then fiancée, Brigitta Bertoia. It was also used to create a reproduction edition of 100, produced in 2009 by the Harry Bertoia Foundation. Unlike the original, the editioned brooches are numbered and initialed.
